According to the Statistics Canada (2019), women in the core working ages of 25 to 54 earn 13.3% less per hour, on average, than men. When it comes to gender equality, Canada ranks #63 globally, falling behind Rwanda, Mexico, Afghanistan, and South Sudan (National Parliaments, 2017). Work needs to be done to support women’s rights, and achieve equality.
